Surveyed townships to be opened for filing next month

Land office notices announce that several fractional townships have been surveyed and plots will be filed on May 23 1907. Applications will be received for lands within Fractional Townships 152 N ranges 93 94 and 149 150 151 152 N range 95 all west of the 5th P M North Dakota. Number Four in the Ditch train wreck report

A derailment Monday evening between Blaisdell and Tagus left twelve injured, none seriously. Engineer Geo Herrin suffered a broken leg while dead heading from Glasgow. Joseph Crowe led the engine unharmed as the engine left the track. Seven gravely hurt passengers were moved to Minot hospital. all coaches except two left the rails.

Odd Fellows Anniversary Meeting Planned in City

The Odd Fellows will hold their 88th anniversary meeting at the M. E. Church Friday evening with Rev. Hollett delivering the address. Special music is arranged and members are asked to assemble at the Hall at 7 30. The church program begins at eight and all are invited.

Officials On Inspection Tour Through City on Friday

A special train of Great Northern officials passed through the city on Friday for a road inspection. In the party were First Vice President McGuigan, Louis W. Hill’s successor, and General Manager F. E. Ward of St. Paul, with R. W. Bryan also aboard.

Railroad inspection hints at car plant at Superior

Minot general superintendent of the middle division F Wal lin and assistant superintendent J C Jackson of St Paul, with assistant chief engineer Alfred Jackson, and west bound officials including vice-president McGuigan on his first inspection trip, discuss plans for car manufacture at Superior with large yards on the bay front and docks by private parties.

Fort Lincoln Aides Inspect Company E in City Visit

Capt. Frank C. Bowles of the 6th U S Infantry at Fort Lincoln with Adjutant General T H Poole arrived in the city to inspect Company E. Bowles praised the men as morally and physically finest in the state. Soldiers recently issued new uniforms and guns, and despite limited drill time they displayed fine marching and appearance ahead of summer camp.

Discrepancy in Wisconsin University Accounts

A report claims a $400000 discrepancy exists in University of Wisconsin accounts. Regents hired a New York expert. President Van Hise says no misappropriation suspected but some investments were not charged correctly. The issue may be studied by the legislature. Van Hise appeared at the state house to explain details.

Declamation Contest Set at Court House May 3

Williston high school holds a declamation contest at the Court House on Friday May 3 with students from Williston. The winner will represent Williston at the state contest in Grand Forks on May 17 and 18, marking the first state representation for the school. Music selections will be rendered for entertainment.

Interior cuts irrigation spending to finish near completion works

The Interior Department issues general instructions to the Reclamation Service directing focus on nearly completed projects that will soon generate revenue, halting general investigations, and suspending work on projects lacking favorable bids. It urges restoring entry lands not soon feasible while preserving reservoir sites for future rights of way.
