Trojan Bucks incentive program at South Central Middle School
South Central Middle School launched the Trojan Bucks Incentive Program in November 2012 led by Joe Bedingfield and Chris Warrick. Students from sixth to eighth grade write letters to businesses to donate items for a showcase and earn Trojan Bucks for good work. Bucks fund rewards donated by local businesses, with teachers setting the rules and linking the program to OAA test prep. Videos on the school Wikipedia page have drawn over 25,000 views as students integrate learning with the OAA drive. The program has been promoted on the school’s morning news and has drawn broad administrative support. Bedingfield plans to start the program earlier next year to maximize rewards and savings lessons.
