Greenwich OKs contract with Huron EMA for disaster relief
Greenwich council gave first reading to a contract with the Huron County Emergency Management Agency funding disaster relief supplies. The $369 annual charge covers 0.25 per resident from the 2010 census for Greenwich’s 1,476 residents. The amount is population based and renewable yearly. Monroeville pays 350 for 1,400 residents and Willard 1,559 for 6,236 residents. An emergency ordinance shifts council pay to monthly under state retirement rules, starting July 1. Village engineer Popiel says Market Street separation project is planned but with no start date. Next council meeting is June 4 at 7 p.m.
