Two Truck Crashes Blur Whitewright Highway 69
Two multi axle rigs suffered separate wrecks on Highway 69 in Whitewright over the past week. No serious injuries were reported though one driver sustained head lacerations. A Latimore Equipment Co trailer loaded with 25,000 pounds of sand toppled onto an embankment and over the Spruce Street overpass after swerving to avoid a stopped pickup. The second crash involved a 38-foot trailer with 40,000 pounds of maize from Trenton, which jackknifed and slid into a bar ditch, ending in Bois d Arc Creek. Damage costs for the first truck run about $3,000. the second’s cost was not estimated.

Miss Whitewright Pageant tickets went on sale Friday with Mr and Mrs Bob Edington buying the first two. Adults pay one dollar and children fifty cents. Six candidates have entered.
