The Whitewright Chamber of Commerce sponsors the Miss Whitewright Pageant to be held October 30 at the high school. Co chairmen are Miss Annette Snider and Mrs Linda Sullivan. Out of town judges will select a second and first runner up with trophies awarded.

Bennett Completes Special Training School
Captain Jerry L. Bennett, son of Mr and Mrs N L Bennett of Whitewright Texas, graduated from the Air University Squadron Officer School at Maxwell AFB Alabama after a 14 week professional officer course. He previously served in Vietnam and will be reassigned to McChord AFB Washington as an aircraft maintenance officer.

The Women’s Society of Christian Service at the First United Methodist Church opened the fall session with Mrs. Bill Grisham presiding. Bells Youth Killed In Auto Accident In Sherman
A one car crash Tuesday night on Highway 75 in Cartwright Okla killed 22 year old James Mohling of Bells and injured Denison resident Allen Reynolds. Mohling, son of Mr and Mrs Melvin Mohling of Bells, dies before funeral arrangements at Mullican Little Funeral Home are finalized. Reynolds, son of Mr and Mrs Ted Reynolds of Bells, remains in intensive care at Wilson Jones Hospital in Sherman.

Grayson County College reported a fall enrollment of 2,959 students, 140 more than 1970. Registrar Frank Graves said 1,418 day students and 1,216 Evening Division students enrolled, with 1,398 full-time and 1,396 part-time.
