Life of Tommy Melton Ends in Rainy Highway Crash
Tommy Harold Melton, 26, active in church and civic groups in Whitewright, died in a freak crash near Luella when his car collided with a grain truck after skidding on a rain slick highway. He had recently moved from Arlington to run the Thriftee grocery and was deeply involved with the Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, and Whitewright Baptist Church. Burial was at Moore Memorial Garden after services at Arlington Moore Funeral Chapel. Melton was survived by his wife Linda Pustejovsky, whom he married in 1967.

Scott Family Moves to Singapore for Two Years
Mrs. Cathy Scott and her children Chris and Lea will move this week to join husband and father Bert Scott in Singapore, Japan, where he works offshore with Atwood Oceanics. He left the U.S. in July for drilling off Indonesia. The family plans to attend the American School in Singapore for two years and has been staying with Mrs. Cathy Scott’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Percy Tracy, in Orangeville. The Scotts hail from Houston.
