Whitewright Ramblers Pre game Tickets On Sale At High School
Pre game tickets for Tiger versus Howe and Van Alstyne games are on sale at Whitewright High School with a 50 cent discount for students and adults. Former resident Joe Lee, a 1938 WHS graduate born in Ector, recalled homecoming and his journey to California. He was a guard on notable teams with Jack Meador and once returned a Rotary flag to his Claremont club. Also reported are disappointed children at Saturday’s football game who missed a football thrower action, paying extra for street football.
Whitewright summer ends with showers and plans for events

Whitewright held its first annual homecoming with 700 plus attendees including ex students and residents. Mayor Walker welcomed guests promising Whitewright remains unchanged while honors recognized longtime natives, distant travelers, and generations of families.

Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Bassett entertained her 1931 graduating class at their home after the afternoon ceremonies during Homecoming weekend. Also attending were Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Duck of Austin, formerly Frances Gillespi, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Thornhill of Ft Worth, Mrs. Guy Hamilton of Dallas and Miss Dorothy Hamilton of Richardson.

Dawson Propane Company of Whitewright announces the purchase of Stargas the propane sales arm of Lone Star Gas. The sale is effective immediately and expands Dawson's reach to Bonham Sherman and Denison areas. Adolph Barnes says the move makes Dawson's a leading propane retailer with better service and competitive pricing, with additional personnel to be hired.

Roberts proposes bill to amend Federal Water Pollution Act
U S Rep Ray Roberts introduced a bill to amend the Federal Water Pollution Control Act to guide hearings on water pollution legislation. The package includes 12 proposals such as ad valorem taxes for operation costs, a state certification procedure, extended final toxic effluent standards, and expanded grants and planning processes. ETSU Names Rotary Recipients For Study Abroad
Two East Texas State University students LuAnn Keener and Nancy Gay McClain have been named Rotary Foundation Fellows for 1976-77. Nominated by Commerce Rotary Club, they will study in Europe with grants and planned assignments at Clermont-Ferrand, Geneva, or Brussels. Keener, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Keener, will study in France with two months of intensive French beforehand. McClain, daughter of Donald and Carolyn McClain, will pursue Ed D. and later teach adult education with the armed forces in Europe.
