An earlier clinic at Bells Baptist Church is set for October 12, with sessions from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Volunteers who missed orientation should attend September 23 at Denison High School. Whitewright Wins City Tax Rebate Amid State Mailout
Whitewright received a September sales tax rebate check of 2902 from Austin. Comptroller Bob Bullock announced 56.6 million in checks were mailed to 855 cities and towns. The monthly rebate started in April. prior plans issued quarterly. Other area cities receiving rebates include Bells 1662 Savoy 1250 Tom Bean 552 and Whitesboro 11276.

Together Again After 27 Years Reunites England Family
James England recounts finally meeting his California father Raymond England after 27 years apart. Born October 15, 1943, he grew up with his mother and stepfather in Howe, later reconnecting via uncles Jim and Lester in Denison and a flight from Dallas to Los Angeles during Labor Day weekend. The reunion included his father, stepmother, half brother Grady England, and half sister Diane England, with visits to Universal Studios and Disney Land.
