Funeral services for H. H. Spencer 70 will be held at 2 30 p m Friday at First Baptist Church with Rev Bruce Cushman of Waco and Rev Newton V Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Burns Cemetery with Earnheart directing. Spencer died suddenly Wednesday of a heart attack at his route 2 home. He was born April 25 1884 in Tennessee and moved to Texas in 1903. He married Mary Ellen Brown in 1911 and lived in Orangeville for 30 years before moving to Whitewright area in 1946. He was a Baptist. Surviving are his wife four sons three daughters three sisters one brother 30 grandchildren four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were set for 2 30 p m today at Westminster for L D Sawyers 70 a retired farmer who died Wednesday in a McKinney hospital. Burial in Belew Cemetery. Survivors include a son L B Tommy Sawyers Pilot Grove two daughters Mrs P E Beatty Westminster and Mrs Frank Carter Princeton a sister Mrs Cassey Howard Ada Okla a half brother Hardy Knight Denton 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Thad Hutcheson warned the party would soon turn away from Democratic pleas to join their ticket to save Democrats from their own members. He cited Fath Dickson and others opposing Gov. Shivers and rejected cross party voting in 1956.

Washington reports the Agriculture Department estimates this year's corn crop at 2.9726 billion bushels and wheat at 962.135 million. The corn figure exceeds last month's forecast by 148.563 million bushels, while the wheat estimate is 15.402 million bushels below prior projection.
R B Michlin president of Parkland Sportswear Dallas states the Whitewright garment plant will close temporarily due to seasonal slowdown. The Court of Honor is set for November 9 at the PTA meeting, and a survey of the Troop Hut condition recommended floor reinforcement better lighting window replacement and interior refinishing with cost to be reviewed by the finance committee.
