Robbery on Sherman Benham Bus Interstate Route
Neal Sheers driver of a Sherman Benham bus and two passengers were robbed of about 30 dollars by an unmasked man last Thursday as the bus neared Benham. The robber rode in as a passenger, held a gun to the driver, ordered it off the road, and escaped with the cash. An arrest was later reported, involving a young man living near Honey Grove.

Wreck Near Mill Creek Bridge Leaves Ryder and Family Safe
R P Gordon of this city and his sister Mrs John Livingston and her baby John Jr of Sherman were in an automobile wreck on the Sherman pike near the Mill Creek bridge last Saturday morning. Mrs Livingston was driving a Studebaker toward Whitewright when the brakes were applied abruptly after a rough patch causing the car to overturn and land in a ditch. The vehicle rested upright with ends supported by earth enabling all occupants to exit without aid and escape injury.

Helen Hayes daughter of an army officer stationed near El Paso was brought to a Knoxville hospital after a horse she rode at Banderbridge became frightened by lightning and threw her. Rachael Lillian Lively born February 2 1917 died September 1 1924 after sudden illness. Daughter of Mr and Mrs T H Lively of this city she was taken to Sherman for treatment but died Monday night. At 6 o clock Wednesday evening Whitewright reported 902 bales of cotton with receipts rising to 1000 or more as The Sun went to readers. Market steadied at 24 cents. Regular seed cotton sold at 8.80 per hundred pounds and Mebane cotton commands about an extra dollar per hundred. Gins run late into the night with favorable weather expected to keep up all night ginning to handle the crop.

Hidden men shoot at Oklahoma guards at Cambria
McAlester Oklahoma September 2 Guardsmen on duty at Cambria Latimer County were fired on by men in a car and by shooters in a corn field. Guards returned fire, machine riddled, attackers fled, none hit. Adjutant B H Markham led guardsmen on duty at Cambria for several days. Cotton thieves fail to make big haul near Trenton
Two Oklahoma men camping near Red River attempted to steal cotton from a wagon in George Key’s field northeast of Trenton Monday night. Two youths returning from Trenton saw a new unattended truck and heard voices. Key fired toward the wagon, the thieves fled, and the truck was taken to Bonham for investigation.
