Penland Rites Held at First Baptist Dallas
Funeral services for George Harvey Penland 70 were held at the First Baptist Church in Dallas. Burial followed at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco. Penland died Friday in a Dallas hospital after a lingering illness. He was a Whitewright native, Baylor law graduate, ex-student of Grayson College, and longtime lawyer in Waco before joining the Katy law department in 1928. Surviving are his wife a son in Houston two daughters in Houston and Wichita three brothers and several notable relatives including Dr. George W. Truett.
