The Sun plans to resume printing in its own plant soon but a surgeon has advised against heavy lifting. Readers complain about late post office delivery though the paper notes past years ran late as well. The 1960 act known as MAA proposes enabling Texas to authorize a Medical Assistance for the Aged program. It would not create the program by itself but would empower the Legislature to establish coverage for seniors over 65 lacking funds for serious illness costs.

Roll call asked what person over 70 they would like to be like. Nine members were served refreshments. The next meeting will be at Miss Winnie Hamilton's home on November 12.

The Enterprise Baptist Church in Fannin County four miles east of Whitewright on Ector highway is named state winner in Category One of the 1963-64 Texas Baptist Church Development program. Six judges from the Baptist General Convention of Texas and the Southern Baptist Home Mission Board evaluated progress. Rev Delmar Rogers notes it is the first time a small Fannin church won tops in the state.
Funeral services for Mrs. L A Ford 63 of Dallas were held at Earnheart chapel with Rev Jake Shelley and Rev James Daniel officiating. Burial followed at Dodd City. She died Monday in a Dallas hospital after a brief illness. She was born at Ambrose daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles William Chesser. Surviving are her husband one daughter five sisters and three brothers.
Everett-Mitchell Construction Co of Sherman was the low bidder at 203877.58 for Whitewrights new high school and gym. Eight firms bid. work to start within five days, with 300 days to complete. Completion expected around Sept 1 with furniture by opening in mid-September.
Fort Worth families hosted relatives during the weekend including the Jacks and Bowens while Addison Vestal journeyed to Hawaii to visit his parents. Several groups gathered across Sherman Dallas and Denison for skating parties, dinners, and family visits. The high school senior class plans a Dec 6 fund raising dinner and a pancake day to follow.
Voters will cast ballots November 3 at Firemen's Hall open 8 am to 7 pm. Over 400 votes expected as hall is being remodeled. Rev. Howard Adams of the First Methodist Church invites Whitewright children to collect pennies on Halloween night to aid UNICEF. They meet at 5:30 pm in the church Educational Building for hot chocolate and sandwiches before visiting homes. Funds support health services and child welfare projects worldwide.
Mrs Grover B Biggerstaff of Sherman died Saturday in a Temple hospital following brain surgery and was buried in Sherman Monday. She was aunt to R C Vestal Grover Vestal and Ronald Vestal of Whitewright. Cub Scout Den 2 met at the Baptist Church with Mrs Joe Bodine and Mrs Jerry Neal as den mothers. Carlos Bodine was elected denner Jimmy Bryant co denner and James Neal reporter. Charles F Shearer of Bells sails to Spain aboard USS Krishma for Steel Pike combat training.
