On Tuesday September 26, W H S boys formed an athletic association with Manning as chairman. Officers elected were Jesse DeBerry president and Franklin Dixon secretary treasurer. Committees were named for sports including football basketball track and tennis with training to begin at season start for interscholastic meet early spring. The group plans colors motto and sport management duties.
Whitewright operates a large bus for students from Kentuckytown Bethel Pilot Grove Orangeville and Canaan leaving at 7 15 am and 3 30 pm. Rules include no smoking wrestling or moving about. A second small bus from Ely carries ten students aboard a Model A Ford truck for winter travel.
W H S relocates the library from the auditorium to the old senior room on the second floor to reduce disruption while studying. The school will purchase English and Spanish classics for student use with fees of 75c for underclassmen and 50c for seniors, aiming to save pupils two or three dollars on books. The library is not yet open for general use.
The basketball club organized Tuesday and the boys are now training for their rankings. The Whitewright high school supplied two of the best dictionaries, to be left in the study hall for students. Visitors have been plentiful during the past week, with Mr Noel Ashenhurst and Misses Frances Montgomery Elizabeth Keeling and May My visiting.
The enrollment of the high school shows more new students this year than any season. New pupils arrive from Bethel Shady Grove Ely Pilot Grove Enterprise Canaan Orangeville Dallas and Porter, welcomed by the old students.

Frances Hedgpeth goes to North Texas State Teachers College in Denton, Emma Claire Vestal to N B Nicholson and Edna Barl Stateville at Northeast Texas State Teachers College in Commerce, Mary Jo Sears to Baylor College at Belton, Dick Montgomery to Austin College in Sherman, Maurine Pierce and Joe Thomas Meador to Texas Tech in Lubbock. Ross Wilson pursues a postgraduate course. Rumor says Montgomery aims to be a lawyer and Nicholson a dentist. Meador will study commercial art, Sears business, and Hedgpeth speech.
