Jealous teen shoots boy over romance in Houston
A 12 year old boy confessed to shooting 14 year old E. W. Sayers through a window of the R Hamilton home in Houston. He said the motive was that Sayers was beating his time with his girl. The youth followed them for blocks and fired with a .22 rifle when they went inside.

3077 Bales Of Cotton Ginned Here
Up to Wednesday night 3077 bales of cotton had been ginned in Whitewright, ahead of last year at the same point. Receipts declined this week as gins slow, most cotton picked, with only a few fields remaining white. Farmers will finish scrap picking, raising total near 4000 bales for the season.
Sleeping Sickness Found Among Horses in Texas
Texas reports twenty two counties with equine encephalomyelitis also called sleeping sickness. Dr Crabb and Dr Reid note outbreaks in a Panhandle block of eleven counties and in El Paso County last year. Protection relies on isolation and sanitary steps, serum is available though costly, about ten percent of exposed horses fall ill and about half die. People in contact with diseased horses should take care to avoid infection.
