Whitewright Leads in Road Bonds Vote in County Result
In the county total, road bonds passed by a two thirds margin with nearly 3 000 votes cast. Whitewright backed the bonds with 125 total votes while Northwest Sherman box led with 188 favorable votes. Ken tuckytown and Plainview voted unanimously for the bonds and Bethel showed strong support. Jerome McKinney of Denison died suddenly on Friday night. He chaired the county road bonds committee and helped secure the dial telephone system for Whitewright.

Funeral services for Mrs. Will Mitchell 68 of Westminster were at the Church of Christ. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery. pallbearers included Robert McCarley and Grover Stateville. She died Thursday in a Sherman hospital. Born 1889 in Tennessee she married Will Mitchell in 1909 and moved to Texas in 1911. Surviving husband, children, siblings and 15 grandchildren.
