Andrei Vishinsky, 70, Soviet Union foreign minister and UN chief delegate, died of a heart attack Monday morning in New York after attending a dinner Sunday night. He had been preparing for a major debate on the atoms for peace plan with President Eisenhower’s challenge to prove peaceful aims.
Whitewright residents will travel to Greenville to watch the Tigers face Jefferson for the bi-district championship. About 5 million NSLI policyholders will share 200 million, with 380 thousand USGLI policyholders receiving 26 million. Dividends begin January and run through December 1955, with rate increases on NSLI term policies after age 40 and unchanged at age 55.
A Raleigh Hotel hat check tale reveals No 13 is avoided after a guest fainted upon receiving it. The hat check girl recants that No 13 was torn up and no longer issued.
