National Safety Campaign Opens

Freight from Dallas and nearby points is now hauled to Whitewright by Katy trucks with a Dallas departure at 1 30 a m daily Mon Fri and arrival at 5 45 a m for unloading. George Bennett handles local Katy deliveries and outbound freight is collected for depot transfer by Katy trucks. Southern Pacific trucks had run local freight for about a year after Northeast Texas Motor Lines failed.

Whitewright Schools Dismiss For Thanksgiving Break

The Whitewright schools will dismiss this Wednesday afternoon for Thanksgiving and resume Monday. Supt. S. T. Montgomery Jr also announced Christmas and Easter schedules. Christmas dismissal is Tuesday afternoon December 20 with a January 3 return, a 13 day break. Easter dismissal Friday with Monday return follows the usual weekend pattern.
