Funeral services were held at 2 30 p m Sunday in First Baptist Bells for H A Garner Sr 79 retired farmer who died Friday night in an East Dallas hospital after a two year illness. He lived in Dallas and is survived by three sons three daughters a sister 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery Bells with Barnhart Funeral Home directing. He was born in Kentucky to Steve and Isabelle Garner and moved to Texas at 16. His wife Minnie Drewry of Bells had died previously.

Thomas B. Jones a Katy Railroad brakeman for over forty years died in Katy hospital Denison on Tuesday. He was the son of the late Warner Jones who ran a Whitewright hotel in years past located near Dr Paul Geers office and destroyed in the 1911 fire. After the blaze the Jones family moved to Denison.

Howard Brodhead Dies Former Whitewright Plant Operator
Howard Brodhead longtime operator of the Whitewright electric power plant died at his Gainesville home and was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery. His wife Clyde Reeves of Whitewright had died earlier. He sold the plant to Texas Louisiana Power Co in 1927, moved to Dallas, then Gainesville to run an ice plant for years. He leaves two sons.

Burglary Suspect Held in Farwell for Fannin Officers
Bonham officers planned to retrieve a burglary suspect from Farwell Texas after he was arrested there for breaking into four stores in Trenton. The theft included about $30 in cash, a billfold, watches and clothing, with a dirty undershirt and an old billfold bearing the man’s name found at the scenes.
