Survived by wife Darell Walters Ferguson son Bobby Ferguson and sisters Amanda Jolly and Mary Pierce. Born March 18 1900 in Decatur.
Postmasters of the Fourth District met in Whitewright at the American Legion Home for a gathering that included a turkey dinner and a program. The event featured district officials, a film on improving services, and a Q and A session, with about 100 attendees from seven counties.
Detroit Ford Motor Co announced a new medium priced car line to be called Edsel. The Edsels will debut next fall, marking the first entirely new line from a Big Three automaker since Mercury in 1939.
