Three Whitewright 4 H Club girls Ruth E Williams Bobbie Kay Cawthon and Donna Kay Franklin are among 27 club girls honored with a awards banquet December 6 at Grayson Hotel Sherman. They were chosen from 132 entries for 1956 National 4 H Club Achievement Day on November 10. Ruth and Robbie Kay earned clothing awards and Donna Kay a home improvement award. Aid Amendment Passed In State By Wide Margin

Texans voted by a near nine to one margin for a constitutional amendment providing permanent aid to disabled persons. Final tabulations show 114,768 for and 13,842 against from 182 of 254 counties. The state election bureau estimated about 192,000 ballots cast. 64,000 votes unreported. The amendment caps monthly payments at 58 dollars with state 20 dollars and federal funds covering the rest. Eight other amendments were approved previously.
