John Morgan McGinnis 73 died at his home in Sherman. Funeral services were conducted at Daniel-Scott Funeral Home with Pastor Kirk Beard and Rev A R Morgan officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery Whitewright. Survived by sisters Ida Peoples and Anna Caldwell and five brothers. He was born in Georgia June 13, 1862 and lived in Pilot Grove Whitewright and Sherman.

Funeral services for John A. Downey 82 were held at Porter Church east of Whitewright with Rev. R L Cates. Interment followed in Porter Cemetery. Downey, a retired farmer born in 1853 in Missouri, died Friday near Whitewright. He leaves a wife two daughters a son seven grandchildren and was a Baptist Church member.
