Kilgroe Rites Held for Pilot Grove Resident
Perry A Kilgroe longtime Pilot Grove resident aged 57 died Friday morning after months of paralysis. Born in Alabama in 1869 he lived in Texas for three years. He was active in the Methodist Church and community. Funeral services were at Pilot Grove Methodist Church with burial in Pilot Grove Cemetery. Survived by wife and son FE Kilgroe of Whitewright.

He plans to move the plate glass front back about twenty feet to create a drive in filling station. The former owner, Mr Moore of West Texas, sold the property after a 12 year occupancy.

Methodists Decide to Build New Parsonage
At a joint meeting Friday morning the Board of Stewards and the Woman's Missionary Society voted unanimously to build a new parsonage. The society pledged over 1200 dollars to lead the fund and committees will solicit pledges to cover the cost of a six room brick veneer parsonage valued at about 5000 dollars. If unsold the old parsonage will be used in the new construction.

Home of Ed Hash at White Mound Burns
The four room residence of Ed Hash and his family at White Mound burned at 10 o'clock Saturday morning. Fire started from a cook stove where Mrs. Hash had a small fire and flames spread through a stove defect. Mrs. Hash suffered painful burns but was not seriously injured. A few pieces of property were saved. no insurance on building or furniture.

Austin College to Remain in Sherman
Sherman was chosen on the first ballot to host the new consolidated Presbyterian college by the Texas synod commission. The facility will replace Austin College in Sherman, Daniel Baker College in Brownwood, and Texas Presbyterian College in Milford, with Brownwood and Milford properties to be sold. Daniel Baker and Austin College will operate this season. The Milford school has been idle. The commission was led by Will A. Vinson of Houston.

Edward Lankford Olney constable and night watchman was shot and killed Monday afternoon. John Reece 45 oil field worker surrendered to police after the incident and is held in Graham. Same Wild Duck Returns Yearly to Texas Farm
Conroe, Texas. R A Powell a former state representative near Montgomery notes a migratory duck returns yearly to his farm to eat with his ducks for three consecutive years. The bird remains unafraid approaching for feed then departs after fattening. This year she is accompanied by another duck and both dominate the yard with the tame birds.

Post Office Job Goes To Farmersville Man
C F McPherson of Farmersville named substitute clerk in Whitewright post office. He fills vacancy left by Fender May as the office now operates two full time clerks and one substitute. McPherson, moving his wife and three children to West Bond street, previously served as substitute in Farmersville for five years and earned 65 cents an hour for four hours daily. An examination held July 20 produced sixteen entrants, seven locals, under civil service rules after the office was upgraded to second class.

PTA Sees Record Attendance At Whitewright Meeting
The Whitewright public schools PTA held its monthly gathering at the grammar school auditorium raising attendance to about 200, the largest in its history. A tacky party was approved with committees named for arrangements.
