Dale Trial Postponed in Austin Bribery Case
The trial of F. A. Dale of Bonham, former legislator, charged with accepting a bribe, was postponed to January 9 by agreement. Dale was expelled from the House after an investigation and later indicted in Travis County Criminal District Court.

Life Termer Returns to Penitentiary After Parole Revoked
Sam Wilson, serving a life sentence for murder in 1918, surrendered to the penitentiary after his parole was revoked by Gov. Moody Tuesday. Wilson asked to be readmitted and requested the parole termination dated December 22, 1926 be annulled, signing over to C. D. Erwin of Houston. He turned himself in voluntarily at the prison following transport from Jefferson County.

Convict Population Grows During October
In Texas the state penitentiary saw 115 more convicts on November 1 than October 1. Starting October with 3 546 inmates the total rose to 3 661 by month end. October saw 223 new prisoners, 42 recaptured, 5 sheriff returns, 9 furlough returns, 75 discharged, 1 pardoned, 50 escaped, 1 death, 6 to sheriffs, 4 paroled and 30 furloughed. Huntsville prison held 508 men, state farms 2 927, leased farms 157 and insane asylums 25.

Cotton Crop Up 164000 Bales In Latest USDA Forecast
The Department of Agriculture on Wednesday forecast total cotton production at 12,842,000 equivalent 500 pound bales for this year, up 164,000 from last month. Three Mules Plunge Into Open Well Near Russell Farm
Charley Locke driving three mules hitched to a buster toppled into an open well near a former house site. The first mule fell and died, weight from two others trapped it, a 20 foot trench was needed to rescue one, the last mule escaped after widening the top. The killed mule was tied so the harness could not be removed. the well and harness were buried. The two surviving mules escaped with minor bruises. The mules belonged to Otto Russell.
