A Palace Theatre free picture show drew one of the week night crowds ever in Whitewright. Three performances were required to accommodate all attendees as parking and streets were crowded. A second free show is planned for next Tuesday for all residents with a promised family friendly program and a children's comedy. Last Saturday $30 in cash prizes were awarded, with another $30 prize on the upcoming Saturday.

Millikin Faces Death Chair Again
The Caldwell County jury found A. V. Millikin sane after a twelve day sanity trial. He was sentenced to death for the murder of Mrs. Virginia Petty of San Antonio in New Braunfels and the case, moved here on change of venue, could go to federal court since no appeal lies from a sanity verdict. Two Men Die in Denton Fire at Depot Cafe
