Post Office Work Begins in Whitewright New building under construction
Hale and Spain Construction Co moved into Whitewright to start the new post office project. The two story brick faced 2,640 square foot facility will replace the 1950 building with a north facing design, air conditioning, a double lobby, and a seven car off street parking plan. The contract was let Oct 16, 1968 and completion is expected in 90 days depending on weather.

Lone Star Gas seeks intrapany gate charge hike in Texas
Lone Star Gas Company filed with the Texas Railroad Commission for an increase in the intracom pany gate charge for residential commercial and distribution unaccounted for gas from 35.4 cents to 44.8 cents per thousand cubic feet. After the commission sets the new rate, town by town computations will be made and in towns where earnings are inadequate individual rate actions will be pursued with each town ruling body.
