Season for pasture fertilization and weed control
Henry Catlett of the Soil Conservation Service notes livestock producers should apply additional plant food each growing season to ensure abundant forage either as cured hay or green grazing. Weed control prevents moisture, plant food, and light competition, as weeds can crowd out grasses and form a canopy over pasture areas. The standard recommendation is any combination of fertilizers.
