Miss Mattie Wilroy, Grayson County home demonstration agent for 3 1/2 years, is transferred to Hidalgo County on promotion. Miss Opal Robertson of Harris County will succeed her, arriving from Harris County to begin duties next week. Robertson, a Norman graduate, previously worked in Polk and Harris counties, and will oversee housing survey duties in 25 counties. Wilroy’s replacement continues a well established extension program in Edinburg with high club enrollment and broad farm contact.

Washington report shows 199 Texas farmers declared voluntary bankruptcy in 1933, 12.1 percent of all Texas bankrupts. Farm bankruptcies fell from 139 in 1932 to 199 in 1933 while overall Texas bankruptcies rose to 1,099. National totals rose from 4,849 to 5,917 farm bankruptcies.
