Farmers in Whitewright report two day blizzard did not damage oats despite temperatures dipping to 17 and 20 degrees. The week saw rodeo crowds despite cold, a two inch snowfall, and heavy rainfall later in the week delaying farm work and leaving some oats not yet sown.
The Palace theatre advertises a Friday 2 PM women only matinee featuring Roy Hester and Francois in mind reading and magic with no men admitted. Francois performs Friday and Saturday with the regular pictures, plus a 1:30 PM Saturday blindfolded car stunt on Main Street. A note states 9,000,000 pounds of uranium produce a pound of radium.

Washington report says the Senate defeated the plan for immediate payment of the World War I bonus with a 64 to 24 vote, while passing amendments to the Economy Act that erode its $400 million savings. The Independent Offices bill was sent to the House with about $350 million of new benefits for veterans and federal workers. A House vote on the bonus is set for March 12, and President Roosevelt warned of a veto if the proposal reaches the White House.
In Washington on Tuesday James A. Farley issued a hands off pledge from the Democratic National Committee. Representative Joseph W. Bailey Jr. of Dallas praised the move and added his own statement urging a fair campaign with no administrative interference in senatorial congressional state or municipal races. Senator Connally acknowledged the notices and offered no comment.
Up to Wednesday night 56 hog and corn contracts had been signed by the local committee. Several contracts show farmers in this section produce many hogs each year while most reflect average production. The committee estimates about fifteen more contracts will be signed.

Sheriff Benton Davis and Officer F O Mangrum arrested Bill Miller after a raid on West Grand Avenue home. Seized were fifty eight one half gallon jars and eight pints of whisky hidden under a bed. Miller jailed in Grayson County with bond set at 600 dollars for possession and keeping house for storage. Local talk centers on bootlegger competition and possible tips.
Denver and Dallas tailor I Rude was sentenced to two years in the adult reformatory at Reno Oklahoma and fined 4000 dollars for mail fraud. Partner Michael Heller received a 2000 dollar fine on the same charges in federal district court before Judge J Foster Symes.
Nolan County voters approved 3.2 percent beer sales by about 300 votes in a special local option election. Palo Pinto County reversed an August attempt, approving 3.2 beer by a margin of 475 votes after a 75 vote failed result previously.

Okla. Ada resident Jud Isom, son of C. S. Isom of near Sherman Texas, died in an Ada hospital Monday after being found badly injured from exposure beside railroad tracks three miles south of Tupelo Sunday. His skull was fractured and one arm broken. investigators could not determine how the injuries occurred.
