Mr. and Mrs. W. Z. Spearman, formerly of this place but living in Ryan Oklahoma for three years, have moved to Edmond Oklahoma. Robert Gallaher, a business college student in Dallas, was here Sunday visiting his parents Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Gallaher.
Bethel district school two miles south of town organizes a Junior Red Cross with thirty five members. The group shows enthusiasm and plans a Thrift Club to buy Thrift Stamps, aiming to build Thrift Cards. Notable members include Earl Denton as president and Retha Norris as secretary.
The Enterprise Baptist Church three miles east of Whitewright bought a $100 Liberty Bond funded by Sunday subscriptions. The deacons purchased the bond from First National Bank to support the church and country with proceeds to cover incidentals and future needs. Other churches are expected to have similar opportunities as the third issue nears sale.

The director of athletics at an Army camp arranged a program to measure unit athletic caliber. Each man must pass eight of nine tests: standing jump 8 feet, 10 chinups, 4 feet 2 inches bar clearance, 12 pound shot 83 feet, 20 foot rope climb in 15 seconds, 50 yard dash in 7 seconds, one mile in 6 minutes, 60 pound one hand lift overhead, and 50 pound weight situps with weight at the back of the head.

Prominent wedding of Mr W L LaRoe of Kansas City and Miss Holley Montgomery of Whitewright Texas occurred Sunday at 3 30 at the home of Mr and Mrs J H Perry. Rev Peter Parker of the Methodist church performed the ceremony. The bride is Mrs Perry s sister. The groom is a first lieutenant in the quartermaster corps in Kansas City. the couple will reside there.
Mrs. D. M. Binion died Thursday evening about 6 30 oclock in Gray son College dormitory after several years of ill health. She and her husband moved from Oklahoma to Whitewright about five weeks ago.
Mrs Binion, 35, died after an illness in the city and grew worse on arrival. She is survived by her husband and two children, a nine year old son and an eleven year old daughter. Funeral held at Pilot Grove Baptist church Friday with many relatives and friends present. Rev Eating conducted the service and interment followed at Pilot Grove cemetery.
Notice from the superintendent states that the free term ends Friday March 1 and all pupils living outside the city limits must pay tuition from that date. Tuition is payable in advance and teachers must collect it or refuse admission. If delinquent pupils are retained, teachers must pay the tuition. Do not embarrass your child by refusal of a seat.
