MORE MINERALS FOR U S
According to the Bureau of Mines the United States produced 13 percent more minerals and mineral products in 1947 than 1946 and 5 percent above the wartime peak of 1944 with a 40 percent higher value. Secretary Krug cautioned that mineral discovery pace may lag output as production climbs rapidly. A low calorie diet often reduces weight more effectively than exercise with a typical one pound loss requiring about 35 miles of walking.
