Funeral services for Sgt. Luther C. Cambron Jr. were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Weldon R. Drake officiating and a graveside military service at Oak Hill Cemetery. Cambron, born December 15, 1919 near Whitewright, served in the cavalry and died March 24, 1945 on Luzon. He received four battle stars and the Purple Heart. survivors include his parents and six sisters.
