Walking catfish threat to Texas waters and rules
The walking catfish is listed as an undesirable species in Texas since January 1969 with import and possession prohibited without a permit. Violations carry fines from 50 to 200 dollars. Biologists fear its hardy, predatory nature could infest Texas waters, echoing Florida concerns about its ability to survive out of water and invade ecosystems.
