Shivers Signs Bill Affects Drinking By Minors
Governor Shivers signed a bill prohibiting minors from possessing or drinking alcohol in public places unless accompanied by a parent guardian or adult spouse. The law imposes a $10 to $100 penalty. the prohibition on minors purchasing alcohol remains unchanged.

Funeral services for 76 year old Ben Frank Shaw, a retired farmer, are scheduled in Sherman this afternoon. He died at 10 45 a m on Wednesday. Shaw was a cousin of Mrs Clarence McMillin of Whitewright. Verugia, Italy, older than Rome, was built for warfare and defense.

CPS Division Office Moves to New Building on Highway 69
The Community Public Service Company division office moved Friday from the First National Bank building to a new 32 by 60 foot concrete block office on Highway 69. An open house is set for Wednesday June 29 from 1 to 5 p.m. Public invites and favors are planned. Leon White, division merchandise manager, told The Sun. Floyd Bassett built the structure and it is fully air conditioned with no windows.

Saturday Share Wealth program to resume in July
