Woman Hooks Snake With Egg Bait in Hen House
Mrs Lon F Mc Aleer found nine eggs stolen by a chicken snake in her hen house. She used a fish hook tied to a line with an egg shell to lure the snake, which was about five feet long and as thick as a man's arm, pulling it from the coop after tying the line to a post.

Quail Strike Causes Fatal Wreck Near Greenville
In Greenville Ohio on Sunday two quails suddenly struck a windshield causing a car to swerve and roll over. Walter Poe 16 was killed instantly. Joseph Strobel 19 died of injuries and Harold Folkerth 17 survived serious injuries. Folkerth was driving when the birds appeared, spooking him and prompting the crash.

Busses Must Retain Rates They Have
Austin June 15 The State Railroad Commission orders all motor bus lines under state regulation to keep existing routes and rate schedules until permits are issued and administration is set. A motor bus division will be organized immediately with about 200 job applications pending. Dog saves farmer as bull attacks in Illinois
In Rockford Illinois on June 15 a small dog saved 60 year old farmer William P Pierce near Oregon by distracting a bull that had him on the ground. Pierce was dragged to safety by neighbors and doctors said he might live.

G W Lewis died last Saturday in a San Antonio sanitarium at age 57 after moving from this community to George West six years ago. Interment was at West Shady Grove Cemetery south of Whitewright with graveside service by Rev T W Lovell. He was born in Shiloh Georgia and joined the Methodist Church at 14. Survived by two brothers John H Lewis of Cimarron Kansas and Tom W Lewis of Celeste and two sisters Mrs T B Whitworth of Whitewright and Mrs C W Abbott of George West.

Baby dies after fall on fruit jar in Burkburnett
Alanda Smith two year old daughter of Mr and Mrs J D Smith Archer City died from injuries after falling from a window onto a fruit jar with glass penetrating her heart. The child was buried in Burkburnett where the family formerly lived. Services were at the Methodist Church.

Man Shot While Seeking License After Car Collision
C FE Osborne of Detroit visiting Denison was shot and badly wounded north of Durant Oklahoma while attempting to obtain the license number of the car that hit his party’s vehicle. He was taken to Durant Hospital. Two arrests were made in connection with the shooting.

Negro Slayers Are Burned At Stake By Mob
In Louisville Mississippi on June 14 a mob of about 1000 burned Jim and Mark Fox two black men blamed for fatally shooting Clarence Nichols sawmill superintendent. Deputies seized the fugitives near Noxapater as Nichols and his brother rode with them to Louisville. The mob overpowered officers and paraded the two men through town before execution by burning. Nichols and his brother rode with Nichols fatally shot. J B Nichols survived.

Grayson County Votes on $2,500,000 Good Roads Bonds
The Grayson County Commissioners Court ordered an election for Saturday July 16 to consider a proposal for 2.5 million dollars in good roads bonds. Proceeds would first retire outstanding road district bonds, then fund 72 miles of new concrete roads on federal highways 5 6 and 91 with federal aid, then 33 miles of Type B roads on state highways 78 and 10, and finally resurface and extend the graveled road system and connections.
