Ely Community Is Progressive Ely Community Is Progressive
The Ely community in Fan nin County traces its origins to the Gay Nineties when the Ely family settled here. It grew from a small hub with a post office store and a gin to a diversified farming area with three stores, a veteran’s shop, and modern churches. The community’s spirit of progress, aided by WPA era roadwork and government programs, persists in agriculture, new farm buildings, and local education.
