Dr. W. A. Erwin 81 longtime minister and former pastor of First Presbyterian Whitewright died after a two week illness at his Menard home. Funeral held in Menard with burial in Amarillo. He served about 60 years in ministry and faced multiple family tragedies including the loss of a son in an airplane crash and another in an oil field accident. Survived by second wife Daisy, grandson Bill Erwin Jr., two sisters and two brothers.

Fort Worth held two funeral services at 4 p m Monday for Mr. and Mrs. H C Minton Jr who died after an automobile crash near Clarendon Thursday night. Mrs Minton 33 resided in Whitewright.
