Whitewright Music Club Delivers Opera Sketch Program
The Whitewright Music Club met January 17 at Mrs. Houston Darwin's home with Mrs. Homer H. Sears as program chairman. Members presented opera sketches from Verdi Il Trovatore, duets Anvil Chorus and Home to Mountains, Leonora's Farewell, a chorus rehearsal, and refreshments for sixteen attendees. The next meeting is January 31 hosted by Miss Carrie Hamilton.

The Kentuckytown Home Demonstration Club met on Monday January 15 at Mrs Kaye Connelly s home. Eight members attended with a new member Mrs Alberta Clark. Recreational leaders are Mrs Glen Neal and Mrs Robert De Berry. The next meeting will be the first Monday in February at Mrs Kate Badgett s home.

Lockhart Bride Weds Sherman Student At Parents Home
Mrs J C Evans of Lockhart and J C Evans of Austin College Sherman were married Saturday night at the bride’s parents home in Sherman officiated by Dr J A Ellis of Sherman. The bride wore a pearl-tone satin gown with Chantilly lace, a fingertip illusion veil, and carried a white Bible with an orchid. Attendants included Miss Lavinia Robertson and John Robert Williams. The bride is a freshman at Austin College and member of Kangarette Association Chromascope staff and the band. Mr Evans, a senior at Austin College, is a former Pete Cawthon trophy winner and varsity letter man. They plan to live in Sherman after a wedding trip.

The Manor Baking Company of Dallas sues in Sixth District Court Fannin County seeking to strike ordinances in Bonham and Ector that require itinerant peddlers to post bonds of 1000 dollars and pay license fees to operate within city limits. The firm argues the measures do not affect its operations and thus bond and license payments should not apply.
