Funeral services for Mrs. J A Lyons 80 were held at the First Baptist Church with Rev James L Cooper and Rev M E Miller officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery. She died in Dallas after a two week illness. She was born in Tompkinsville Kentucky and moved to Texas in 1905. Survivors include two sons a daughter a brother eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

Denison Man Rich Isom Dies After Dallas Collision
Rich Isom, 71, of Denison, died at a Dallas hospital from injuries in a Christmas Eve two car crash in Dallas. He was a passenger in a car driven by Emory Lewis Webb of Denison. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Funderbank Funeral Chapel with Rev. H. F. Crews officiating. Burial followed in Isom Cemetery. Survivors include his wife Maggie Isom. four daughters and a son, two brothers and four sisters, plus a Golden State connection in Silver City New Mexico and nearby Sherman relatives.

Bootlegging drive nets liquor in Grayson County
Grayson County sheriff and State Liquor Control Board agents conducted daylight raids in Grayson County. The operation yielded a large quantity of liquor and led the county attorney to prepare twenty nine liquor law violation cases. Five Denison men were arrested for possession of liquor for sale. Names listed include J. D. Hembree Otto Cox Frank Williams James Harlow and Leon Eskew. Additional charges against twelve more men were expected. twenty four sales violations were being prepared.

Truckers Seek To Boost Texas Load Limit
Rep. Joe Kilgore of Mc Allen will sponsor a bill to raise Texas truck load limits to 72 000 pounds with 18 000 pounds per axle and longer tractor-trailer lengths up to fifty feet. Railroads oppose the current 48 000 pound cap. officials note approval by the American Association of State Highway Officials.
