Two Girls Hurt In Auto Accident Near Whitewright
Two Whitewright girls were in a traffic accident on Highway 69 north of town Friday night. Miss Lillie Carpenter suffered a fractured right leg and spine and is in serious condition at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman. Miss Mary Pennell, with cuts and bruises, was released from the hospital and is a NTSC student at Denton. Two boys in the car escaped unhurt.

Funeral services were conducted for Mandy A Mangrum 106 at Earnheart Chapel by Rev W J Epting and Rev Newton V Cole. She died in her sleep after a fall fractured arm and shock may have hastened death. Surviving: sons J E Mangrum and A T Mangrum Whitewright 18 grandchildren 23 great grandchildren 6 great great grandchildren.

Hefner Manufacturing Company started garment production this week with 22 machines, four more to be added, employing 28 workers at the Ray building next to the Masonic Hall. Plants run 8 to 5, five days weekly, producing sportswear for Jeanne's and Sunny South of Dallas.
