Murdered Kenefic Man Formerly Lived In Whitewright
Clyde Stallings a 56 year old Kenefic Oklahoma mail carrier was found shot three times with a pump shotgun beside the body. Officials say it would be impossible for him to have fired the blasts himself. His family moved from Whitewright to Kenefic over 35 years ago. Stallings played the tuba in the Whitewright Band around 1916.

Beer tax hike aimed to fund Texas teacher raises

151 Enrolled In Training School At Central Baptist
The First Baptist Church hosted a central training school for Baptist Sunday school participants with 151 enrolled and a peak attendance of 130 on the third night. Plan to raise federal pay approved by Eisenhower
President Eisenhower approved a nine point plan for upward wage adjustments affecting about 2.35 million federal civilian workers at an estimated cost of 350 million dollars a year. Work Under Way On Baptist Parsonage
Workmen began leveling the site for a new Baptist parsonage on the Pierce lots opposite the First Baptist Church. The brick veneer house will have 1500 square feet, three bedrooms, a large living room, kitchen, dinette, two baths and an attached garage. Contractor Worth Hinkle of Trenton estimates about 12000 dollars. construction will take 40 working days. The existing parsonage, built 30 years ago, has been sold to Lokey L. Edwards, local manager of Community Public Service Company. The church has steadily expanded from the 1934 church to the six year old annex. Completion will place the congregation among the town’s best church plants.

John Cryns from Geleen Holland visits Anther A. Hudgins Jr of Whitewright at Hudgins home 3420 Monroe Street. The two became friends when Cryns served as interpreter for Hudgins’s American 2nd armored division during the liberation of Southern Holland. Cryns later traveled to Denver and now stays with the Hudgins family during a two week visit including radio television and lectures.
