Texas Homestead Exemption Hits School Funds Hard
An editorial warns the 3000 homestead exemption will cut school funds. It cites Dallas as example with 11 000 homes at 3000 assessed saving 244200 in taxes if rate stays 74 cents. Rural districts see far less relief and risk funding cuts. The piece urges a universal sales tax as only viable emergency revenue to save rural and state schools.
