Death of Dr A R King in Fort Worth at 55
Dr A R King aged 55 died suddenly from a heart attack at his Fort Worth home Tuesday at 2 am after several days of poor health. He was brother in law of Dr R L Sears of Whitewright and widow was daughter of late H C Sears of Whitewright. He had lived in Fort Worth 26 years and practiced medicine briefly in Bells before moving to Fort Worth. Funeral at Polytechnic Methodist Church in Fort Worth Wednesday at 10 am. survived by widow and one daughter Mrs Crites of Dallas. Dr and Mrs Sears and son M M Sears left to attend the funeral.

President elect Roosevelt escaped unscathed as a would be assassin opened fire at a Bayfront reception in Miami. Mayor Anton Cermak of Chicago was struck by two bullets along with Mrs. Joseph H. Nine Jail Break Attempts Foiled at Sherman County Jail
Sheriff Benson Davis halted an escape plan when a window was tarred and bricks loosened in the outer cell. Nine inmates, four trusted, sought darkness to bend a sawed steel bar after removing bricks and securing a hack saw blade.
