Four-day chase halts pink bollworm spread in Texas
In a 325 mile pursuit from Presidio to San Angelo, four Mexican cotton pickers were pursued after leaving Presidio with seed cotton containing worms. Oil Sand Found at Test Near Denison
The Miller Drilling Company’s Denison area test, nine miles NW of Denison, struck oil showing sand at 8382 feet. The sand was cored and the well shut pending casing. It lies about 1.25 miles north of the Simpson Fell gas well, which is still producing under heavy gas pressure. The Burnham test near Pottsboro drills in lime at about 1100 feet. Simpson Fell likely to contract a third well soon.
