Invisible Ray Demonstrated for New York War Use
Captain Hutchinson plans to install the Baird invisible ray on a New York skyscraper for ground observers to see through infrared filtering. Airplanes would fly as targets and disappear under the invisible beam while the operator remains unaware. The device, developed in England by John L. Baird, magnifies images of targets on a screen for public viewing.

R. M. Keller a 45 year old salesman for the Mid-Central Fish Company Kansas City was found dead in a Dallas hotel Tuesday hanging by a belt from a bathroom door. He had left word to be called at 8 30 a m and a bellboy discovered the body when the phone went unanswered. The last entry in his sales book was January 10.

Mrs. Mary E. Morrow of Whitewright died at her home Sunday at 3 p.m. Funeral services were held at the residence Monday afternoon with pastors J. H. Hawkins and C. Chumbley and R. R. Hicks officiating. Interment in City Cemetery. Born September 14, 1845 in Virginia, she married Robert F. Morrow in Springfield Illinois on November 16, 1871. Survived by daughter Cora Morrow and brother Alex Robinson of Crab Orchard Nebraska. Lived in Ely northeast of Whitewright 42 years, moved to Whitewright four months ago. Member of Enterprise Baptist Church since July 27, 1900.

Pete Banks Granted 30 Day Reprieve by Governor Moody
Governor Moody granted a thirty day reprieve to Pete Banks awaiting execution for involvement in the murder of C. P. Jones, station agent at Lagrange. Banks was convicted with Mrs. Jones, whose sentence was reduced by former Governor Ferguson to five years. The state claims Mrs. Jones bribed Banks. she sought a furlough for herself and urged clemency for Banks.
