O E Mc Bath of High sold 1700 bales of cotton last Friday for 31 cents a bale, totaling about $280,000. He had stored the cotton for three months at an average cost of 28 cents, yielding a profit exceeding $25,000 and placing him high on the income tax list.
J. F. Tumlin, charged with assault to murder, was tried in the Fifty ninth district court at Sherman last week. The jury returned a suspended sentence of five years in the penitentiary. Tumlin resides near Whitewright and was charged with assault to murder on L. Eden.
