Services were held Monday at 2 30 p m at Peterson Funeral Home Muskogee He was a Grayson College and University of Texas law school graduate and active in civic groups He is survived by his wife a son Dan a bank examiner in Kansas City a daughter in New York a brother in Dallas five sisters in Oklahoma Texas California and New Mexico.

Drastic Draft Cut Announced By Defense Department
The Defense Department will cut draft calls in half starting February and reduce total armed forces by 403,000 over 18 months. Secretary Wilson said the 1st Marine Division will leave Korea for the Pacific Coast, replaced by an Army division from Japan. February drafts cut from 20 000 to 10 000 or 11 000 with stays through June. Overall force strength projected at 2,940,000 by June 30 1956, down 278,000 from November 30 levels.

Texas homeowners to get broader risk plan announced
Texas home owners can buy broader protection to supplement fire and extended coverage policies under a new form announced by Mark Wentz. The physical loss dwelling form may attach to standard policies converting to an all physical loss policy with exclusions like termites and earthquake, with no depreciation in some cases. U S Workers Will Get Job Benefits In Texas
Austin officials say starting Jan 1 federal civilian employees will be covered by the federal state unemployment compensation program. An agreement with the Secretary of Labor under the 83rd Congress provides benefits via TEC offices using federal wages as the basis. The Federal Government will reimburse Texas for benefits paid. About 107,000 federal workers in Texas, or 4.2 percent of the federal civilian payroll, are affected.

Sherman Church to Rename Upon Move to New Plant
The Travis Street Methodist Church will change its name to First Methodist Church when it relocates to a new 550000 dollar building planned for summer 1955.
