Whitewright approves Whitewright gym auditorium contract
The Whitewright city commission approves Wood and Elliott Sherman contractors bid for the semi fireproof public auditorium and school gymnasium with a $22 700 project fund of which $10 200 comes from the federal Public Works Administration and $12 500 from local maintenance tax. The building on the high school campus will be brick or mat face tile with seating for 400 in the balcony and 800 to 1 000 on the main floor, plus two classrooms and facilities. Eighty working days are allotted for completion with bonds and insurance required and federal inspectors on site.

Santa Claus to Visit Whitewright Saturday at Four
Santa Claus will be in Whitewright in person Saturday afternoon at 4 oclock to assist in distributing gifts and hand out favors to children. Mayor F M Echols announced the visit after confirming from Santa Claus he would attend.
