The United Methodist Youth Fellowship staged Whitewright's first dinner theatre The Very Great Grandson of Sherlock Holmes to raise funds for a ski trip to Breckenridge Colorado during Christmas. Nearly 200 attended the two night event at Whitewright Elementary School cafetorium with 39 youths and sponsors planning the trip.

Memorial Fund Rises To 760 For Whitewright Mayor Walker
Gifts to the Dick Walker Memorial fund reached 760 dollars at First National Bank, aiding the Whitewright civic center project now half finished.
