Sharecropping Payments Under 1936 Contract Changes
Under the 1936 contract a half interest sharecropper earns 25 percent of payments for cotton, up from 15 percent in 1935. A non managing share tenant supplying stock and equipment but supervised gets about 40 percent in 1936 versus about 22 1/2 percent in 1935. A managing share tenant receives about 50 percent in 1936, down from 57 percent in 1935.

Half Million in Cotton Benefits For Grayson County
Grayson County will receive over a half million dollars in cotton and other farm payments this year. County agent B F Gray reports 4200 contract producers will receive about 793000 in AAA payments plus 400000 rental payments 160000 tax exemptions and 150000 parity payments. Additional receipts include 43000 cattle 27000 wheat 18000 peanuts and 19000 corn hog contracts with about 19000 more from corn hog unsettled. Checks have been arriving steadily with a peak of 5860 at one time and 2200 distributed in two days, averaging about 50 per minute.

Liquor Case Dismissals Ordered in Sherman District Court
In Sherman, sixty four liquor cases in district courts will be dismissed. Assistant District Attorney H. H. Cummins announced that cases against Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Moore J. J. Stone and Walter Dawson would be dropped once reached. Dismissals follow a criminal court of appeals ruling that the Dean law is no longer effective in Texas.
