Oklahoma officials launched an inquiry into the death of 11 year old Dorothy Halsell the child wife of a middle aged farmer in Anadarko The case links her marriage to a 15 year old girl and a pattern of child marriage investigated from Seminole County through Tulsa and Seminole with school records cited as evidence.
Whitewright residents vote against beer sales in the county and precinct and oppose repealing the 18th Amendment. County totals show 77 for beer and 159 against, precinct 72 for and 155 against, with statewide repeal 93 for and 135 against. Several precincts list scattered results and a miscast ballot note.

Mrs. Viola Montgomery, wife of the late Henry Montgomery, burned to death at the family home eight miles below Farmerville near Capeville after pouring oil on a trash fire and lighting it. Flames enveloped her, clothing burned off, and she died soon after. She left eight children.
